2/6/2023 – The students that were leaving public education for these academies were starting to outperform public school students, as well as, take away from the local public-school funding through attendance. When I came back to public education, the mindset of administration had started to change to address this new data. They were realizing that it wasn’t just the digital resources themselves, but how these were implemented and utilized to enhance learning that made a difference. Thus, I see blended learning being piloted on campuses in several districts in our state and across the U.S. including my own campus.
2/5/2023 – It wasn’t until state legislatures started to embrace public charter schools along with homeschooling and colleges began accepting these graduates that the hierarchy of education took notice. Now, funding was really on the table and losing students to these “new kids on the block” started to affect their funding through attendance.
