2/14/2023 – I am enjoying this graduate work and thankful that it came at a great time in my career to utilize its content and maximize my learning. As an ELA teacher when I started my career over 25 years ago, I never would have thought that I would have picked this major for my master’s degree. However, with my journey in education from getting a BBA to a 1st – 8th grade teaching certificate; being a virtual teacher and administrator over 10 years ago; being around traditional homeschoolers as an art teacher, and now being an instructional coach in a district that supports Blended/Personalized Learning, I feel efficacy in my choice and am looking forward to where this learning and degree will take me. The learning material is stretching my thinking as it reinforces other held beliefs about education and learning. I like the format of the class discussions along with the discussion questions. I appreciate how the professor models Blended Learning in his own class structure. I also appreciate the supportive messaging and time to get started before asking for the first major assignment for a grade.  This gave me time to join a group and get my bearings in the course.  For those that don’t have any background in Blended Learning, I can understand why the course could be daunting.  When I was first introduced to this in my district, it took some time to wrap my mind around the depth of it, and I am still in the learning there.
