3/3/23 – In my Contributions to my Learning Community, this is my rationale for scores of a 90 in EDLD 5303 and a 45 in EDLD 5305 as I reflect on my participation in the learning communities as a part of these courses. First, I was able to share my learning in both courses’ in-person discussions and online discussions. The work I was doing in 5305 fit beautifully into the requirements of 5303. This all worked well for me. I have learned that I could do better on tracking which pieces were due at which times because they started to overlap in my mind. However, I didn’t miss a due date. I also want to continue to perfect my digital filing system along with pieces of my ePortfolio linked here: https://angeldesch.com/
Working with my core collaboration group consisting of Kacie Guidry, Brenda DeCuir, Madison Perez, and Priya Rane helped me tremendously. We texted, zoomed, and emailed on a regular basis to share ideas, build on our work, and provide feedback/feedforward to each other. We recorded zoom when someone had to drop off or had a time conflict arise and to also give us a chance to review things.
Everyone brought something special to the table! Each person would support the group with their area of technical and academic strength (i.e., Zoom, Google docs., citing, written expression, Canva, organization, researching, etc.). A shared Google document where we could load up all of our drafts and completed assignments was created. Comments could be left for “feedforward” for assignments in both classes and links with due dates to assignments were placed there along with other supporting documents. In addition to supporting each other on the assignments in 5305 and 5303 and their requirements, we also shared our ePorfolios and the different website platforms to gain ideas and insight. Here is that Google site which includes links to all of my work with the group:

Being in this group has helped me stay focused and on task to accomplish what has been needed for learning and completion of the work in these two courses such as the course readings, videos, and supporting resources. We were constantly sharing the screen with each other to share the course content and our work in the courses. I am thankful we were in both courses together to help keep assignments on track. To also lead our group effectively, there were times I set up meetings and sent outlook reminders, and times that others did the same.
In addition, I also supported others in the classes that reached out to me for suggestions, advice, or reading of their work by messaging me in Blackboard. I put pieces of my work into discussions and on my ePortfolio for comments and commented on others’ discussion pieces and work. I tried to respond in a timely manner and complete everything over the timeline of the course, as well as, cite items correctly in my work and responses. Not only have I learned new concepts and ideas, but I have also learned about website creation along with new creative platforms that I look forward to using in my career with my fellow colleagues, teachers and students.
