4/24/23 – At this point, my learning experience in this program has continued to narrow my focus on the specific points that need support along with detail in my Innovative Plan and bolstered my “Why.”
I am excited that this program has reinforced where my district is going in Blended Learning and supported my deeper thoughts regarding student engagement with the COVA model. Students do need to have Choice, Ownership, and Voice in Authentic learning environments to be engaged in their learning especially since what the traditional model continues to offer is “dying on the vine.”
The most valuable lesson I have learned thus far in the program is that you own the ePortfolio, and it is up to you to keep it up, add your learning to it, and change it as you grow in your learning. It shouldn’t become a filing cabinet for your work but continually reflect your learning. I had a portfolio in photography class and in graphic design class 30 years ago. I’ve always wanted to start an ePortfolio for various reasons and now I have one that I do plan to make my own.
