7/22/23 – Here is my rationale for scores of a 98 in 5313 and 5389 as I reflect on my participation in the learning communities as a part of these courses.
First, I was able to share my learning in both courses’ through in-person discussions and online discussions.
The work I was doing in 5313 correlated well into the requirements of 5389. For example, the 3 column table with the BHAG that I created in 5313, I enhanced it for the assignment in 5389. Creating the UbD Template in 5313 helped my work on my activities and surveys for my PL design in 5389.
I kept track of assignments in both classes, and I didn’t miss a due date. My ePortfolio houses all of my assignments, and I continue work on my digital filing system along with pieces of my ePortfolio linked here: https://angeldesch.com/ I continue to update my headings and subheadings to make navigation easier during every course period.
Continuing to work with my core collaboration group (consisting of Kacie Guidry, Brenda DeCuir, Madison Perez, and Priya Rane) consistently helped me. We texted, zoomed, and emailed on a regular basis to share ideas, build on our work, and provide feedback/feedforward to each other. We recorded zoom if someone had to drop off and to also give us a chance to review things. We updated each other on items covered in discussions, announcements, and emails.
Everyone supports the group with their area of technical and academic strength (i.e., Zoom, Google docs., citing, written expression, Canva, organization, researching, etc.). We have a shared Google document where we can load up all of our drafts and completed assignments. Comments could be left for “feedforward” for assignments in both classes and links with due dates to assignments were placed there along with other supporting documents. In addition to supporting each other on the assignments in 5313 and 5389 and their requirements, we also shared our ePorfolios and the different website platforms to gain ideas and insight. Here is that Google site which includes links to all of my work with the group:

This group has helped me stay focused and on task to accomplish what has been needed for learning and completion of the work in these two courses such as the course readings, videos, and supporting resources. Constantly sharing and being in both courses together as a group helped us keep assignments on track. For leading our group effectively, there were times I set up meetings and sent outlook reminders, and times that others did the same.
In addition, I also supported others in my classes that reached out to me for suggestions, advice, or reading of their work. I put pieces of my work into discussions and on my ePortfolio for comments and commented on others’ discussion pieces and work. I tried to respond in a timely manner and complete everything over the timeline of the course, as well as, cite items correctly in my work and responses.
Not only have I learned new concepts and ideas, but I have enhanced my learning regarding Growth Mindset and improved the effectiveness on how I conduct Professional Learning. I look forward to using all of this in my career with my fellow colleagues, teachers, and students.
