Wings & A Wand – 12/5/23 – In my Contributions to my Learning Community, this is my rationale for scores of a 95 in EDLD 5318 and a 95 in EDLD 5320 as I reflect on my participation in the learning communities as a part of these courses. First, I was able to share my learning in both courses’ in-person discussions in Zoom, online discussions, and with my core collaboration team, as well as, my colleagues at work. The work I was doing in 5318 fit beautifully with the work of 5320. My colleagues on my campus and in my district are already interested in being a part of my course designed in 5318 and going through the content of my ePortfolio that I have been fine-tuning in 5320.
I have learned that I could still do better on tracking which pieces were due at which times because they started to overlap in my mind while taking two courses together. However, I didn’t miss a due date.
I have continued to work on my navigation of my ADL pieces in my ePortfolio linked here: https://angeldesch.com/ I know it has continued to get better, but there is always room for improvement especially as I plan to branch out in other areas with it in the future.
Working with my core collaboration group consisting of Kacie Guidry, Brenda DeCuir, Madison Perez, and Priya Rane helped me tremendously since the beginning of the ADL program. I know my work would not be the caliber it became without them. We texted, zoomed, and emailed on a regular basis to share ideas, build on our work, and provide feedback/feedforward to each other. We recorded zoom when someone had to drop off or had a time conflict arise and to also give us a chance to review things.
Everyone brought something special to the table! Each person would support the group with their area of technical and academic strength (i.e., Zoom, Google docs., citing, written expression, Canva, organization, researching, Canvas, etc.). A shared Google document where we could load up all of our drafts and completed assignments was created. Comments could be left for “feedforward” for assignments in both classes and links with due dates to assignments were placed there along with other supporting documents. In addition to supporting each other on the assignments in 5318 and 5320 and their requirements, we also shared our ePorfolios and the different website platforms to gain ideas and insight. Here is that Google site which includes links to all of my work with the group:

Being in this group has helped me stay focused and on task to accomplish what has been needed for learning and completion of the work in these two courses such as the course readings, videos, and supporting resources. We were constantly sharing the screen with each other to share the course content and our work in the courses. I am thankful we were in both courses together to help keep assignments on track. To also lead our group effectively, there were times I set up meetings and sent outlook reminders, and times, and in turn, others did the same. While I was in a live class connect zoom, I would share with my group what was being discussed to support those that might have to watch the recording on occasion.
In addition, I also supported others in the classes with suggestions, advice, or reading of their work. I put pieces of my work into discussions and on my ePortfolio for comments and commented on others’ discussion pieces and work. I was also a member of a Lamar Ed Tech Fall 23 Facebook group to support others.
I tried to respond in a timely manner and complete everything over the timeline of the course, as well as, cite items correctly in my work and responses. Not only have I learned new concepts and ideas in my coursework, but I have also learned about new creative platforms that I look forward to using in my career with my fellow colleagues, teachers, and students.
