Innovation Plan for Instructional Coaching of ESL Teachers and Emergent Bilingual Students
Emergent Bilingual Students are OUR students not just the ESL teachers’ students. As educators, we need to create a learning environment where they grow and THRIVE. Blended Learning offers the learning environment that they require along with ALL students.
Innovation Proposal
My innovation proposal flows into where my campus and my district are moving in Blended Learning. It allows me to share the innovation on my campus with the learning environment for Emergent Bilingual students with other teachers of ESL on other elementary campuses in my district area. It also allows me to communicate this work by creating my own Blended Learning environment for these teachers as we collaborate and innovate on expanding this Blended Learning initiative.

Innovation Project Update
My Action Research Plan details how to complete the research to get the data needed to implement effective instructional practices for Emergent Bilingual students.

Literature Review
My Literature Review discusses Blended Learning, how it supports Sheltered Instruction to meet the educational needs of Emergent Bilingual learners, and the Action Research needed to implement effective instructional practices for EB students. After going into the background of theory that supports Blended Learning along with various models that support the learning for EB students, it discusses the Action Research needed to vet out the best tailored instructional support in the classroom which allows them the ability to respond to the learning in various ways.

Implementation Plan
My Implementation Plan begins with piloting Blended Learning with a small group of ESL teachers on my campus with Lead ESL teachers in elementary schools in my campus feeder. Then, over time, it will expand to other instructional coaches, their ESL teachers and Lead ESL teachers in their elementary schools.

Annotated Bibliography
My annotated bibliography contains books that I will continue to use in my learning along with books that I am presently reading. These are recommendations for teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators who are a part of my innovative initiative. It also contains books that I plan to read to support my learning and growth mindset along with that of my colleagues.
